Germany’s far-right AfD eyes historic state victory in Saxony-Anhalt election

Germany’s anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany party is aiming to become the first far-right party to take power at a state level since World War II as voters in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt head to the polls Sunday. However, a failure to secure an absolute majority may see the politically isolated party struggle to form a government.
