It was now or never for LA Knight in his pursuit of a world title. On Saturday night at Money in the Bank, Roman Reigns made sure it was never.
Reigns slammed the door shut on Knight’s World Heavyweight Championship hopes, successfully defending the title at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans in front of a hot crowd that was on the edge of their seat throughout the entire match.

Sure, fans appeared to be in Reigns’ corner. They acknowledged him. They chanted “OTC.” But as Knight came with in a millisecond of pinning Reigns, the crowd turned. They wanted to see Knight pull off the impossible in what was the best match of his WWE career up to this point.
Knight pulled out all the stops. He nailed a jumping superplex and put Reins into the Burning Hammer. He couldn’t get the pain. He ate multiple Superman punches and kept his shoulders off the mat. He avoided a spear and countered with a BFT. Outside of the ring, Knight avoided Reigns’ attempt to spear him through the barricade. Then, he powerbombed him through the announce table.
The challenger brought Reigns back into the ring and still couldn’t get the win. The yelps were loud in my house as Knight nearly got the pinfall multiple times.
All of Knight’s momentum came to a screeching halt when Reigns put him onto the ropes, attacking the groin area. Knight never recovered. He stumbled around the ring as Reigns hit him with two more Superman punches and the final spear.
Reigns avoided Knight’s mind games. He looked Knight square in the eyes when Knight flipped him the bird in his own kind of acknowledgment. He played his own game – slow, methodical, purposeful, which was a far cry from his Mexico City title defense against Penta about a month ago.

Reigns proved what most of us know. He is the supreme superstar of WWE. He is at the Head of the Table and there is no one who can touch him no matter how popular his challenger is.
Still, the sharks were lurking.
As soon as the match ended, 946 appeared in the crowd. Royce Keys, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima signaled they were coming after the champ. The Usos and Solo Sikoa appeared right behind them.
The two stables brawled throughout the arena. As they got outside, Jaida Parker appeared in an SUV and got the 946 out of harm’s way.
The LA Knight problem is over for Reigns and The Bloodline. The looming war with the 946 is inevitable.
